Trauma Recovery
Believe it or not we all have some trauma that has played a part in shaping our behaviors and relationships. This is even more true when the trauma is sexual in nature. I work with trauma survivors in order to provide support, educate, and guide the journey through the recovery process. The goal is to reconnect with themselves, loved ones, and the world while using their strengths to build a life they love living. It is important to understand and be able to identify trauma in order to use it as a guide for resilience and solution-forward resolution. By using experiential practices, we will work in areas such as self-regulation, brain-body connection, behavioral reactions, different types of traumas, leading causes, and subsequent symptoms. Through the process clients will learn methods such as regulating the nervous system, discarding shame and guilt, as well identifying needs and wants to better communicate and achieve their goals.
